Triads are among the elementary building blocks that music is made of. Usually guitarists come into contact with them when they learn their first few guitar chords. Advanced players however, especially those who improvise, will want to be able to play them all along the fretboard, on all possible and practical string groups.
This book series can be a learning and practice aid for you. First of all, play through the triads from each key, and from each of the most used scales covered in the 4 volumes. This alone will be a good technique and theory exercise, which may also give you an insight into the logic of the guitar fretboard.
As a next step you can, for example, create your own melody patterns from them, and incorporate them into your (jazz) improvisations.
